Roath Park
Roath Park, Lake Road West is east of the city center. It’s three large parks mean that you could easily spend a day here, picnicking and enjoying the facilities. Attractions include its 13-hectare (32-acre) lake, as well as tennis courts and bowling greens. Rose and dahlia gardens, a subtropical greenhouse, a children's play area, and an island bird sanctuary add to the pleasures found here. The lighthouse clock tower in the lake is a memorial to Captain Scott. The park has recently been awarded the prestigious Green Flag award. Row boats and peddaloes are available to hire for a minimal cost. A cafe is situated overlooking the lake.
Admission is free, and it's open daily.
