If you are living in or around Cardiff and looking for an exciting free weekend festival this Summer, pop along to Cardiff Pride. A weekend celebrating diversity in Cardiff, and especially aimed to entertain and educate. If you are lesbian, gay, bi, transsexual, or heterosexual, you’ll find there is something here to suit everyone.
Here is a clip of some of the highlights of the 2007 event:
What the organisers say:
“We are inviting you to join 40,000 other people in the capital city to celebrate diversity this Summer.
Whatever your taste we have got something for you. Whether it’s the entertainment on our main stage or marquees, the white knuckle rides in our fairground, shopping in our market areas or simply to meet friends for food and drink there’s something for everyone.
Cardiff Mardi Gras returns to continue it’s mission to change attitudes and increase understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans communities. By supporting us to raise the £100,000 needed, we will be able to keep it FREE.
Since it began with only 5000 people attending, the event has grown into a highlight of the Cardiff social calendar with top Welsh, UK and international celebrities and performers.
Whether you live in the city, in the rest of Wales or beyond, the Mardi Gras is for you and we welcome people from all walks of life regardless of age, gender, colour or sexuality- all it costs is an open mind.
So whether you’re a family of four on a day out or Cymru’s Campest Carnival Queen – join us!
We couldn’t do this on our own and we would like to thank all of the event sponsors who have had the vision to engage with our community.
