Unity Festival goes international at Cardiff Bay

This June companies from afar afield as Australia, Barcelona and Tenerife will be joining this annual celebration of arts created by all, to be enjoyed by all – UNITY FESTIVAL 2010.

From 28th June – 4th July, Hijinx Theatre, in partnership with MENCAP Cymru and Wales Millennium Centre invite the whole community to join in at this spectacular week-long event.
With plenty of free workshops and performances – the Festival takes place at Wales Millennium Centre and The Pierhead, Cardiff Bay – Cardiff Student’s Union and Maindee Festival in Newport.

Festival highlights include a 3 day residency by world renowned Australian inclusive company Back to Back Theatre – with an opportunity to be part of this unique film project. Clownfish & Clownbaret from Spain will be here for the whole week, taking workshops and performing their unique and curious pieces throughout the Centre with an inclusive cast. Blue Eyed Soul will be performing their incredible aerial productions with Hijinx Theatre’s Into My Own taking a pit-stop on their nationwide tour. The team then decamp to Newport to take part in the Maindee Festival on July 3rd with the Unity Finale Gig at CF10, Cardiff Students Union with learning disabled recording artiste Lizzie Emeh as the headlining act.
