Wales National Anthem Lyrics

Hen Wlad fy Nhadau
(Land of my Fathers)

The Welsh National Anthem

Cymraeg

Mae hen wlad fy nhadau yn annwyl i mi
Gwlad beirdd a chantorion enwogion o fri
Ei gwrol ryfelwr, gwlad garwyr tra mad
Tros ryddid collasant eu gwaed.

Gwlad Gwlad,
Pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad,
Tra môr yn fur i'r bur hoff bau
O bydded i'r hen iaith barhau

English:

Land of my Fathers, O land of the free,
A land of poets and minstrels, famed men.
Her brave warriors, patriots much blessed,
It was for freedom that they lost their blood.

Wales! Wales!,
I am devoted to my country.
So long as the sea is a wall to this fair beautiful land,
May the ancient language remain.

Cardiff Zoo to get Petite Lap Giraffes

Cardiff Zoo to get Petite Lap Giraffes

Petite lap giraffe at Cardiff zoo

A bid from Cardiff zoo to get one of the few Petite Lap Giraffes available from Sokoblovsky Farms has finally been confirmed and the zoo is looking forward to taking in its new addition.

The Petite Lap Giraffes have been showcased for some time on the website: http://www.petitelapgiraffe.com

Although slightly poorly translated, the giraffes are said to be " Petite Lap Giraffes are very funny animal that require special care. They need lots of love. Hugs and kisses every day. Otherwise they make tears. "

The giraffes are very small and a full size adult is only 76 centimeters tall, the baby is a mere 15 centimeters tall.

Conditions in Cardiff have been made to accomodate the giraffes which need very little preperation, "Living conditions: PLG’s love being indoors in filtered air conditioning. If they can listen to music of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov it is dream.

Grooming: a bubble bath once a week with purified water is all they need."

To find out more about the Petite Lap Giraffe please visit the official farm website at http://www.petitelapgiraffe.com where you can also watch them on live video.

Bogiez takes over Cardiff Barfly

Bogiez takes ove Cardiff Barfly venue

Bogiez nightclub, which has been going in Cardiff since the early 80's and has quite a substantial following in Cardiff, has announced it will be moving venues to the former Cardiff Barfly venue on Kingsway, Cardiff.

News on the Bogiez main website has quite a build up to what to expect asaying: "It's something we've wanted to do for many, many years, but we've never wanted to rest on our laurels. We wanted the right venue at the right time and in the right location. The stars have alligned and that time is now!

So, from February, Bogiez will be located on the Kingsway, in a building many of you will already know, that of the former Cardiff Barfly, and boy can we tell you that we are already banging our heads with excitement over this venture. The South Wales rock and metal scene has been crying out for a truly dedicated rock bar that's for the rockers, run by rockers and without any trendy management interfering with a night of pure rock fury for as long as we can remember and Bogiez is finally in the position to make this happen, and we are absolutely over the moon about it (and hope you can join us in being so)."

After contacting Bogiez, there are some interesting changes to take place from what is currently known of Barfly and Bogiez club nights.

The new club venue is going to look significantly different to Barfly with the interior currently being re-modelled in order to accommodate more people and make the venue physically bigger. A change from the Barfly we all knew is that the focus of the venue will no longer be live music but Bogiez will have bands on. The primary intention is going to be an array of rock/metal/alternative club nights throughout the week with the Bogiez club night as it is right now becoming a weekly Saturday fixture. The current site does lead us to believe we should expect a bit more in the future saying, "Live bands? Hell Yeah! Open Mic nights? Just try to stop us! Specialist evenings and a DJ roster of faces you know, faces you once knew and faces you will know? The biggest Zombie breakout of all time couldn't stop us!".

For more news from Bogiez themselves, there is a newsletter sign-up form available on the homepage: www.bogiez.com

Keeping an eye on Britain’s Got Talent whilst the show has auditions in Cardiff over the 25th - 26th of Jan 2011.

There are many hopefuls trying to impress the judges and just as many family and friends cheering them on making it a very popular event in Cardiff along with other major cities.

For those wanting to keep up to date and see some pictures of what’s going on (including some very blurry pictures of David Hasselfhoff’s legs in a kilt!) then follow itv's twitter account @GotTalent
